Seymour MO town council meeting – December 8th

I did not make the meeting tonight. To tell the truth I am disgusted. Out of the dozen churches in this town not a single Christian seems to think that they have a responsibility to control the government that they create and support.

The people in government make a mockery of doing what government is supposed to do. I went to the agenda for Dec. 8th and it was useless boiler plate. Following the letter of the law but spitting on the spirit of the law.

Those that do not live in the town limits are apathetic because they do not think what goes on in the town affects them – they could not be more wrong. And they do not attend county government meetings either.

The clergy is pathetic and guilty of walking with evil. Their 501c3 tax status is their God. They will not rock the boat, as the black robbed preachers did in revolutionary war times. Are they the Whores of Babylon from the Book of Revelation or just a look alike?

Most despicable is the press. They are selling us down the river. Many members of the press knowingly. Their weekly paycheck is  more important to them than the  future of this country. Whoever coined the term press-titutes was spot on IMHO.

Growing up I often wondered how the Christian nation of  Nazi Germany let what happen – happen. Now I know – as I am watching the Christians of Seymour MO let it  happen here.  The parallels are astonishing.

What Seymour needs is a few Ron Paul’s to run for city council. Well we actually have them, it is just the electorate here,  like the nation, is too stupid to elect them.

And what are the Christians  and sheriff of Webster country doing to insure our freedoms? Compare us to this NM county:

Armed and Ready: New Mexico Residents Defy Government

Submitted by Gun Owners of America on Nov 22, 2011

By Larry Pratt

GOA member Dr. Ray Seidel alerted me to the stirring of freedom that is taking place in his village of Ruidoso, New Mexico. I have already reported on the first battle with Mayor Ray Alborn and how he tried to impose an unconstitutional gun ban in the village. To get the full story of what happened in Ruidoso, you can go here and listen to my first debriefing session with Seidel.

I recently interviewed Dr. Seidel a second time on my Gun Owners News Hour weekly radio program and asked him about several acts of local interposition in the surrounding counties — all of which underscores the importance of the office of the sheriff and the militia.

For example, over near Deming, New Mexico is the Gila National Forest. The U.S. Forest Service wanted to make almost all of it off limits for people — until the militia of Luna County intervened. They told the feds that they would resist any effort by the Forest Service to restrict access to visitors. The result? Visitors have continued to access all of the Gila National Forest!

In the Southeast corner of the state, many landowners have working oil wells on their property. The EPA told the oil operators they would have to stop operating their wells because there was too much risk of harming the environment. At a town hall meeting convened by the EPA, a woman in her 60s rose to address the feds. She pointed out that her land had been in her family for over 200 years, and she was not about to let some official from an unconstitutional bureaucracy tell her what she could or could not do with her land.

The woman ended by warning the feds that her family has many guns and a huge supply of ammunition, and they would use all of it if needed to keep the EPA off of their land. The locals who had packed out the hearing room jumped to their feet with a shout and prolonged applause. That was in August of this year. As of November, oil is still being pumped at full tilt.

In Otero County, villages in the mountains are surrounded by forests. The county commission voted to establish an 80,000 acre plan to manage forest overgrowth. Residents wanted to cut fire breaks to protect their homes in Cloudcroft, but the Forest Service said, “No.” The residents responded that they had to for safety’s sake and were going to construct the fire break in spite of the Forest Service. Residents were told that if they cut down any trees, they would be arrested. But Sheriff Raymond Cobos told the Forest Service that if they made any arrests, they would be arrested for false arrest.

Not only were the trees cut down with no opposition from the feds, the first tree was cut down by Congressman Steve Pearce (R-2ndDistrict). Would that there were many more like Rep. Pearce. The folks in the Second District are blessed with a constitution-supporting congressman and a number of constitutional sheriffs backed by the militias of their counties. This is the way that local governments can push back and help the feds to live within the limitations that have been placed upon them in Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution.

As you can see, there’s a lot happening in New Mexico. And Dr. Seidel has been at the center of a lot of it. Two weeks after the people of Ruidoso prevailed in the gun ban debate, Mayor Alborn decided to seek revenge. He went to the state capital of Santa Fe and met with federal officials there. That same week, Seidel got a notice from the IRS that he had until a certain date to file his taxes, which he has refused to do for several years.

Seidel makes no secret of his refusal to submit to the IRS which he considers as part of an unconstitutional regime in Washington. The IRS intended to encumber his assets if he did not bend his knee. Seidel visited with the county sheriff who understood what Seidel was trying to do and told him he “would have his back.” The same was true for the village police chief – the same officer who refused to have his men arrest people who were defying the Ruidoso gun ban by carrying openly in the village council chambers.

Not only was the sheriff and police chief alerted to the possibility of IRS action against Seidel, but so was the militia in Lincoln County – some 200 plus men who keep their rifle and battle bag in their vehicles 24/7. They can muster in about 30 minutes at any place in the county.

Seidel visited with the village assessor, who would be the official to place the encumbrances on his assets. Seidel explained (as he does with everyone) that Title 42, Chapter 1, Subchapter 1, Section 1983 of the federal code would be used to sue her personally for violating his civil rights — that is, he would sue her if any of his assets were encumbered without having first secured a warrant from an Article III court.

*also look at  Title 18 USC 242 — 1983

Seidel has frequently argued that he will gladly submit to a federal court (authorized under Article III of the U.S. Constitution) as opposed to a mere tax court (which is an unconstitutional creature within the IRS). As with many administrative agencies, the combining of legislative, executive and judicial powers within the same four walls constitutes the very definition of tyranny which James Madison warned us about in Federalist 47.

Seidel has used Title 42 on other occasions. One involved a state trooper with an anger management problem who made a false arrest on Seidel’s son. Since being served with a Title 42 suit, the officer has been able to control his anger.

The deadline is long past, and the IRS has done nothing, so the assessor is off the hook for now. But New Mexico is becoming a text book example of how the Founding Fathers envisioned the states would rein in an out-of-control government.

As stated by Alexander Hamilton in Federalist 28: “It may safely be received as an axiom in our political system that the State governments will, in all possible contingencies, afford complete security against invasions of the public liberty by the national authority.”

If there were more sheriffs like those in New Mexico serving around the country, we would be well on the way to safeguarding our liberties against Washington’s “invasions of the public liberty.” It also might occur to the Congress that more examples of sheriffs interposing themselves might result in shrinking down the federal government to do little more than just funding the national defense.

US Senate votes to end Bill of Rights, authorizes military to occupy U.S. cities and detain Americans

US Senate votes to end Bill of Rights, authorizes military to occupy U.S. cities and detain Americans

In a stunning move that has civil libertarians stuttering with disbelief, the U.S. Senate has just passed a bill that effectively ends the Bill of Rights in America.

This bill, passed late last night in a 93-7 vote, declares the entire USA to be a “battleground” upon which U.S. military forces can operate with impunity, overriding Posse Comitatus and granting the military the unchecked power to arrest, detain, interrogate and even assassinate U.S. citizens with impunity.

It’s being called the most traitorous act ever witnessed in the Senate, and the language of the bill is cleverly designed to make you think it doesn’t apply to Americans, but toward the end of the bill it essentially says it can apply to Americans “if we want it to.”

Even WIRED magazine was outraged at this bill, reporting:

…the detention mandate to use indefinite military detention in terrorism cases isn’t limited to foreigners. It’s confusing, because two different sections of the bill seem to contradict each other, but in the judgment of the University of Texas’ Robert Chesney — a nonpartisan authority on military detention — “U.S. citizens are included in the grant of detention authority.”
http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2011/12/senate-military-detention/

The passage of this law is nothing less than an outright declaration of WAR against the American People by the military-connected power elite. If this is signed into law, it will shred the remaining tenants of the Bill of Rights and unleash upon America a total military dictatorship, complete with secret arrests, secret prisons, unlawful interrogations, indefinite detainment without ever being charged with a crime, the torture of Americans and even the “legitimate assassination” of U.S. citizens on right here on American soil!

If you have not yet woken up to the reality of the police state we’ve been warning you about, I hope you realize we are fast running out of time. Once this becomes law, you have no rights whatsoever in America — no due process, no First Amendment speech rights, no right to remain silent, nothing.

Read my red alert warning on this urgent development at:

… and watch this urgent interview with Alex Jones of InfoWars.com at:

The mainstream media is engaged in a shameful and conspiratorial news blackout of this entire issue:
http://www.businessinsider.com/the-medias-blackout-of-the-national-defense-authorization-act-is-shameful-2011-12

… and even the ACLU is outraged about this potential law:
http://www.aclu.org/blog/national-security/senate-rejects-amendment-banning-indefinite-detention
Are you getting all this? Do you realize America is about to be overrun by our own military?

The rule of law is about to be utterly destroyed. No due process. No legal representation. Not even a right to know what you’re being charged with when you are (indefinitely) detained.

This is an urgent time for action to protest the overreaching military police state in America. Immediately call your representatives in Washington and urge your House members to reject this bill in the reconciliation phase with the Senate. Call the office of the President and urge Obama to veto this bill if it is passed by both houses.

Call your local newspapers and protest this outrageous and traitorous attempt to nullify the entire Bill of Rights.

Do not be fooled by the trolls and disinfo agents who claim this bill does not apply to U.S. citizens — a fact which has already been established without question. If this is signed into law, military humvees will roll down the streets in U.S. cities, with gunpoint checkpoints, illegal arrests, secret torture operations and the outright murder of U.S. citizens right in their own home towns.

In observing all this, you might ask WHY is this happening right now? Why would the U.S. Senate deliberately nullify the Bill of Rights and seek the authorize military action on the streets of U.S. cities?

The answer, my friends, will not comfort you: A global economic collapse is coming, and once started, it will likely unleash a wave of social unrest and rioting that could burn many U.S. cities to the ground. The U.S. Senate is probably trying to rush authorization of the military to operate in American cities before the economic collapse arrives, thereby placing troops deep within the roughest U.S. cities where they stand a chance at halting the runaway riots that are sure to materialize when peoples’ life savings vanish as the banks collapse.

Keep reading NaturalNews.com for updates on this situation. We will continue to cover the Eurozone economic crisis as well as this Senate bill 1867, which is not yet law. Our last-ditch hope would be for Obama to veto it. We’ll issue a red alert if that action is needed…

And remember, folks, the Bill of Rights protects us all — liberals, conservatives, libertarians, agnostics, Christians, Jews, everybody! If you lose the Bill of Rights, you lose America and all the freedoms many generations have fought for. Right now protecting the Bill of Rights is perhaps the single most important thing we can do for our collective futures.

All of us who have been screaming about the importance of the U.S. Constitution have been trying to protect YOU from exactly this kind of scenario. The whole purpose of the Bill of Rights is to limit the power of government so that this kind of Senate action is never allowed.

Stewart Rhodes: CROSSROADS, NDAA Bill is Pure Treason!!

Christians need to be responsible for their government.

Christians need to be responsible for their actions, yet they are not at all. As a group
they are among the most irresponsible group  on the planet. Let me explain:

My fellow Christians  are very duped and confused. They still think that we have a Caesar and  that we should do whatever this Caesar fellow tells us to do. Well I will give them that Obama thinks he is Caesar, but that’s all I give them. He is not my Caesar nor my God.

Christians are 2,000 years behind the times – as this is a Constitutional  Republic that is founded upon the belief that we are Caesar, that we are the government. (See Locke, Paine, and Jefferson.)  Yet Christians still recite their  Romans 13  (also here) mantra in a catatonic manner, as their eyes roll back in their heads. They watch the world go by as if we have a king,  with divine rights, or a Caesar, as if they themselves have not a thing to do with the sorry state of affairs in this country.

Well I hate to burst their bubble, but  this government  is a direct result  of their actions, or their inaction’s. And they are responsible for it’s actions.

Christians  have created the government we have through their vote,  and more importantly – through their silence. They  have created this  government –  arguably one of the  most vile, enslaving, and evil institutions to walk the face of the earth, and then like  immature children they refuse to take the responsibility of  controlling the monster they have created by falling back on their mantra that “It is of God”.   They let this monster that they create and support – steal, rape, and plunder their fellow man and then acting like their reviled, Pontius Pilate –  wash their hands of it.

The land is filled with moronic pastors, many on the FEMA payroll, that tell them not to get involved in politics, to  love Caesar, and their servitude, and the Christian sheeple almost to the man listen and heed this evil, ill advised advice. George Orwell would be proud.

This is exactly the state of affairs, (Idiot pastors and gullible Christians) that allowed Adolph Hitler to steer the German Republic into evil.  Christians had better take heed and learn some history as they are going down the same path here in the US.

The situation of Christians creating this dangerous creature called government,  and then refusing like immature children to police the monster they have created by doing things as simple as going to city council meetings,  is similar to to parent that would hire a child molesting, pedophile, baby sitter to baby sit their children instead of doing due the diligence that would prevent this disaster. But that is OK, all they have to do is catatonicly chant the Romans 13 mantra and they are absolved of all responsitbilty for their actions.

Yea right…..

Irresponsible Christians are the biggest threat to our liberties in this country today and have but all destroyed everything that once made this country great. Christians  have become  the engine of evil in this country.

Which side are you on? Do you sit silently, drinking the cool aide, condoning the evil? Or are you speaking up?

We offer 4  resources to the reader that would like to investigate the proper role of government the first is a sermon on Romans 13 by Pastor Chuck Baldwin.  The second the classic by Frédéric Bastiat “The Law” Both I think you will find extremely enlightening on this topic.

“Anyone building a personal library of liberty must
include in it a copy of Frédéric Bastiat’s classic
essay, “The Law.” First published in 1850 by the
great French economist and journalist, it is as clear a statement
as has ever been made of the original American ideal
of government, as proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence,
that the main purpose of any government is the
protection of the lives, liberties, and property of its citizens….”

The third: If you enjoy videos we highly recommend  “An Idea Whose Time Has Come – G. Edward Griffin – Freedom Force International” the author of  “Creature from Jekyll Island”

There is no point in worrying about the erosion of personal freedom that is the reality of our present era if we can do nothing about it. They say that knowledge is power, but that is one of the greatest myths of all history. Knowledge without action is useless and leads only to apathy and despair. So the question is: what type of action can reverse this trend? Writing letters and signing petitions to the same people who have created the problem is not going to do it. Voting for candidates selected by power brokers with hidden agendas will not do it either. There have been many proposals to reverse the tide of totalitarianism but, after decades of effort, none of them have worked. In this address, G. Edward Griffin, Founder of Freedom Force, tells us why; and the reason is so simple, it will astound you. Once we clear away that single barrier, the plan for a pro-active counter-force falls quickly into place. This is the missing piece of the puzzle, the ultimate solution we have been seeking. Seymour MO town council meeting – November 10th

Well it’s Thursday November 10th 2011 and the city council meeting agenda for tonight is not posted as it should be. Not the end of the world but is just indicative of what government is. They take money by force from people and then in return return substandard services because there is no incentive and no competition.  I saw this illustrated earlier this week when I had to use the Tax payer supported Seymour library computers (The city just bought them computers. God only knows why this is governments responsibility.) .  I first noticed that flash was not installed on the FireFox browser that I was using, there is no WiFi, and you can not use a memory card to actually store a download and take it with you, or use the USB to facilitate the upload, printing, or editing of a file you bring with you.  The computers are next to useless for many purposes and substandard to what would have to be offered in the free market. Why? Because government is providing the service, stealing the money to do this, and have no competition.

The meeting started promptly at 6 pm there were a whopping 5 people present tonight. The very first order of business seemed to be the approving of last weeks minutes which explains why they were not there when I went to post a link to them last week. (I say seemed because to a  city council neophyte like me that many things are not every clear but that will change in time I am sure.)  Minutes leave out so very much BTW and an audio or video record is very much needed.

I will get better as time goes on as I am very poor with names, but perhaps this is a blessing as I do not want to make my criticisms seem personal, it is ideas and institutions that I wish to criticize. I mean to attack the message and not the messenger.

There was mention of  putting in a bid for a “depot” on a high speed train line that is being planned. The time to get into Springfield will be about 10 minutes.  I do not see why this is an issue for government at any level or  why my tax dollars are paying the salary of anyone to spend time on this issue. I think this train may be a great thing, IF conceived and carried out in the free market I would support it. The  end never justifies the means and it applies in this case.

As part of the police report an incident on Halloween a masked in costumed individual came into the “Hot Spot” and had a knife.  I was not there personally but no  mention of this individual threatening anyone was mentioned, yet the local police and the sheriffs office was called. To make a long story short a K9 tracked this person home and they are now involved in the legal system.  All I can say is what a complete waste of resources and tax money. Like I said I was not there but the modus operandi of government seems as Ayn Rand predicted in Atlas Shrugged is to criminalize every thing and make everyone a criminal.  Is this incident as reported to me different in substance from me using a knife in my kitchen or possibly during a cook out at a city park?  I found the following story about the insane criminalization of everything in America.  Kidnapping and Ransom Rampant in the US

A man stopped for not stopping at a stop sign was arrested for a DUI with a blood alcohol of 2.37.  Let me state that I drive a motorcycle and am not a fan of people driving while impaired. I am still concerned about the disingenuous nature of these laws. Let me explain: The  DUI  BAC (blood alcohol content) limits are forever being lowered. For what reason I have to ask? If you have a commercial driving license they even give you a totally different BAC even when driving in your personal car. The test itself is inaccurate at measuring impairment as it only measures BAC and does not take into account the blood brain barrier, and built up tolerance. It is being used like  the “War on Drugs”  to justify illegal check points on our roads that throw the 4th amendment under the bus. Other  behaviors such as texting, having unruly children in the car, not having enough sleep, a diabetic having low blood sugar, have been shown in some experiments to create as much or more impairment as a 0.08 BAC but it is not politically correct to prosecute these other behaviors.  Why the double standard?  Trying not to drive under the influence is discouraged in the arrest of people that sleep in their cars for DUI. In many places just the act of sleeping in your car is illegal.  If one wants to walk somewhere and drink a beer on the way somewhere, one is arrested so the obvious choice is to drive where you can hide the fact that you are drinking. The building codes if not outright prohibiting  bar owners from providing a place to “sleep it off” – drive the price so high that it is not cost effective to do this.  Also with alcohol having an insanely high tax rate, taking advantage of the poor IMHO, none of it is used for things such as providing say a free cab to someone that has drank too much. Youth learn to drink and drive because drinking in a park or otherwise safe place is the best way to get arrested. Youth also learn to throw their cans on the road to avoid the insane “open container laws” that would fine them at the very least for an empty can in their vehicle. Lastly there is a steady stream of stories in the press about breathalyzer machines not being properly calibrated with no end in sight. Perhaps if those administering these tests with mis-calibrated  machines were threatened with long jail terms things would change. But I  almost forgot… our protectors are above the law unlike we mundanes.

A book could be written on the hypocrisy of the system on this issue, perhaps I will touch upon this at a later time. There are obviously more unanswered questions than answers with the, knee jerk implemented, federally dictated, war on DUI. The DUI laws are a study in contradictions and stupidity.

DUI Task Force Cop Admits Falsifying Breath Test Readings  How do we protect ourselves against this?

The city is going to buy 2  new Chevy Tahoe’s for the police department for $60,000. When discussing the traction on the 2 wheel version it was mentioned that the “armor” put a lot of weight onto the rear end. If I am not misunderstanding this – I find the extra cost of armor plus the degraded gas mileage to be an issue. Police are not even in the top 10 of dangerous jobs and this statistic includes big cities where things are much more dangerous that in Seymour MO.  (There are other areas where what exactly is occurring  are unclear. Due to time constraints, and my strengths and weakness’s I leave it to others to track down these possible misunderstandings.)

A fire engine was in for annual maintenance and passed with flying colors. The town also is sending new employees to fire 1 & 2 school. Cost was not mentioned. As you may have guessed I don’t think government belongs in the business of fire protection. No one has a God given right to having their house fire put out much less a right to steal off of his neighbors to pay for it. Also in the free market there would be a huge difference in the cost to provide  fire protection for a small poured concrete home with a sprinkler system and a 3 story, 5000 square food, balloon framed, home 3 miles from the nearest fire hydrant. Government provided fire protection turns  the proper free market distribution of cost on it’s head.

There was recently a small earth quake that separated the brick veneer from a building  and was in danger of falling on the sidewalk. The city was proud that they had recently changed the building codes so that they did not need the property owners permission to take this brick down.  My thoughts are, that with cities track record of never ending usurpation of property rights, through mala prohibita building codes, that this is a very dangerous slippery slope and that some other more freedom respecting solution should  be sought out. The trend is clear: you own nothing, using your property is just a permission granted to you and it gets worse every year. Again the end does not justify the means.

The city (I know I have been inconstant with the terms city and town. I  apologize.) is going to spend $3800 for a drive up window at the new city hall, so people do not have to get out of their cars.  I think this could be proper for a private business to do but a town by definition is spending  extorted money that is not theirs and should be very frugal. I am unsure how this window is enabling government to accomplish it’s one and only mission and that is to protect my God given inalienable rights.

Something was said about problems with the schools backhoe. You can read what I think about government involvement in education here.

There was talk about buying a  bobcat to dig graves at the cemetery. I surely feel like I just fell off of the turnip truck because for the life of me I do not see how protecting my God given rights has anything to do with digging graves and buying a bobcat with my money!

Lastly I discovered that town council meetings used to be recorded but someone filmed an executive session (Sounds like a star chamber to me.) and released it to the public, therefore they stopped filming town councils meetings. That logic sounds an awful lot like suspending the whole class when the teacher finds some bubble gum on the floor. Very contorted collectivist logic.

*Note on executive sessions:  When our government operates in secret and out of earshot of those that attend city counsel meetings -there is a good old boys network where certain goings on are leaked to the privileged members of the mainstream press. Take this article by Bob Anderson of The Webster County Citizen. I guess if you don’t suck up you are kept in the dark as to what goes on in the Star Chamber.

Besides I as told by a council member that divulging what goes on in the Star Chamber is a crime. As usual our owners are exempt from laws that apply to us mundanes.

I don’t  like the idea of the town filming themselves (we the citizens need to do this) as it always brings to mind malfunctioning government cameras when you need them the most, as was the governments story at the Oklahoma city bombing.

And how much does a film of the public meeting really mean when our employees get to meet in the dark in their executive sessions? I really don’t care how acceptable this is as slavery was once and still is acceptable in certain places. I don’t care how legal this is, remember that the genocide of Hitler, Stalin, and Mao were all legal under their laws also. These private meetings of our government are an abomination.

As you can see there is very little that our local government does that fits under the definition of what government should be when this country was founded as espoused by the writings of Locke, Paine, and Jefferson. This is a perfect example of the tyranny of the majority. (democracy) The majority seems to support the trampling of their fellow mans rights, stealing from him, locking him in a cage, or even killing him if he protests the theft and usurpation’s. For the life of me I do not understand how people that call themselves Christians can do this and  can look in the mirror in the morning.

CAFR’s and Ending Taxation

Ending Taxation – “The Only Game in Town” The way our government can and should be.

Have you ever heard of a CAFR (Comprehensive Annual Financial Report)?   Watch the above film and start your education as to what governments are up to in the United States. You should be shocked.

Alex Jones also released a great CAFR movie a few years ago that is a little easier to follow,

perhaps this is the best one to watch first.

Alex Jones Report on The CAFR

In short this whole topic exposes the fact that governments have enough invested money  that they do not have to collect taxes off of the citizens to pay the bills. They hide this fact by keeping a double set of books. Yes I know it sounds too far fetched to be true but so are many things that governments do. (This may not currently be true as most have lost much of this money due to poor investments in banker scams such as derivatives.)

The Internet Nazi’s come to Seyour

This is going to be an on going story about how big business may be sniffing your Internet packets without a search warrant in violation of the 4th amendment. Their justification is that they claim to be protecting copyrights.  The  reason I am unsure about the packet sniffing is that you are not told who your accuser is nor do you have access to their supposed evidence. To get this info you have to open a can of worms that allows them with all  of their resources to more easily take legal action against you, who most likely can not even afford an attorney.  This whole thing reeks of a Star Chamber.

These people with money have had  regulations written by the FCC that was never meant to write laws, that strong arms your ISP (Mediacom in this case) into shutting down your account for supposed copyright violations with no due process, again in violation of the Constitution. There are also  laws written by congress (the real congress not the super congress)  dealing with copyright infringement.  But I think most of us know that the congress is owned bought and paid for by powerful special interests.

To top it all off, the bottom line is that they want you to do this as there is an easy solution but they run from the solution, because the intent is to stifle free speech on the Internet. They want to strike terror in your heart every time that you download anything.

Every aspect of this story does not pass the smell test. It’s complete lawlessness. Does that surprise you in a nation ruled by an illegal alien from Kenya?

Stay tuned.

One thing that I have learned is that there really is no proof as to wrongdoing and that it is machine generated.  Someone (I do not even have the right to know who my accuser is) all they go on I understand is the file name.  For instance I could have a home movie called “Star Wars” and based solely on the file name I could get flagged for copyright violation when in actuality the movie is one that I made and own. The only way to verify if this is their material is to look in the packets (without a warrant) and do what is known as a CRC check and I am fairly certain that they are not doing this. So in effect they have NO proof of a copyright infringement but they get your Internet shut down and can even get criminal convictions with no proof!  It’s amazing what money can buy these criminal thugs! They don’t even need proof and they don’t have to give you any due process as guaranteed under the Constitution.  It’s a case of guilty until found guilty because they have lots of money.

This is a criminal gang, that has bought off our congress and has laws written for their special interests. In fact there is not even a law.  It is my understanding that it is an alphabet soup agency such as the FCC that wrote the implementation of  this “law” not congress as specified in the Constitution.  Yes the more you dig the more it stinks.

What really aggravates me is the fact that by default everything is copy written. So saying that someone downloaded copy written material is really a misnomer.  What should be said is that they DL’ed material the the copyright owner wanted to be compensated for and was not. And how are you to determine this when you click on a file and DL it?  How are you to read the copyright owners mind?  This file and this file are both copy written. The first file I happen to know the owner allows anyone to copy and distribute his work. The second I believe that is the case but am not sure. He has not made YouTube take it down at least. How about this movie at HuLu? There is a FBI copyright notice. So by watching it are you DL’ing and breaking copyright law? DL this one however and you will get a notice from your ISP that you have DL’ed copywritten material and they may terminate your service. And you may even be criminally prosecuted.  How is one to know?  You don’t and they want to keep it that way!  It looks to me that this is being used to chill free speech on the Internet.

A solution to the problem would take maybe 8 hours of any competent programmers time. All that needs done is to write a Firefox plugin that when you start to DL a file that it would check against various databases to see if someone claims to have a copy right and also wants compensation, on that particular file. That would be too easy and put the companies that are paid by copyright holders out  of business over night.   It’s similar to expecting  the cure for cancer from the American cancer society. It will never happen as that would put them out of business also. ( I realize the pitfalls and false positives of this method  but it happens the be the way the   copyright violations are machine generated and your Internet is shut down. I don’t think the founders thought that machine generated accusations met the standard of due process. )

The last slap in the face is that you can not find out who your accuser is or see their so called “proof” without filling paperwork that allows the ISP to identify you and thus open you to prosecution (and they will convict you I am told) with very sketchy evidence to say the least.  Usually all they have for “proof” of a torrent download is an IP address and a file name. Not proof of anything at all…. But then again those with lots of money can purchase your being found guilty. Our legal system and legislature are for sale to the highest bidder.

There are several other scenarios where you can receive a false accusation of copyright infringement. One would be when an unauthorized person is using your network and another  would be copyrighted material under the fair use law.   If you would like to read more check out  http://dmca.cs.washington.edu/faq.html  – and thanks to commenter Jody for this link.

Enjoy the free Internet while you can. It is the plan of your government to change that fact as an educated electorate is dangerous to a criminal government.

Are Christians the problem? You decide

There is no shortage of Christians here in Seymour. There is a Church on every corner and they are all well attended every Sunday.   I have attended the past 3 town council meetings and there have never been more than 10 people at any of them. Where are  all the Christians I ask?
(For the record: I am embarrassed to admit that not a single person from my own church thinks that attending these meetings or supporting this paper is a priority that is even on their radar.)

Are the people in Seymour so dumbed down from attending the government schools that they do not realize that politics is the way you choose to treat your fellow man? Are they so confused by Romans 13 that they would follow Adolph Hitler? Are they so confused by Romans 13 that they would follow Barry Saetaro ? Are they so confused by Romans 13 that they would follow the FDA ?

By not being involved in politics they are agreeing with everything that  government does. All the Christians that do not participate in the political process (and I don’t mean just voting. This paper is part of the political process.) are supporting theft when the government steals.  They are supporting rape when the government rapes. They are supporting murder when the government murders.

I don’t have much more to say on the subject other than they are getting exactly what they deserve. i.e. One of the most criminal governments to ever exist on the face of the earth. This is not what God has ordained – this is what Christian’s have caused by their tacit approval. Maybe we can not change Washington DC or Jefferson City or even Marshfield but we damn sure can start local and keep an eye on what is going on here in Seymour.

And for the record, from where I am sitting Christians most definitely are the problem as a vast majority choose to walk hand in hand with evil.

And just as applicable:

Thomas Jefferson’s seal said “Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God” but I think it is even better reversed: “Obedience to tyrants is rebellion to God.”

US Authorities Hit Google With 70% Rise In Takedown Orders

The number of takedown orders received by Google from authorities based in the United States rose dramatically over the past year, with demands to remove information, including videos containing “government criticism,” increasing by 70 per cent.

“In the US, Google received 757 takedown requests across its sites and services, up 70 per cent from the second half of last year,” reports technology website V3.co.uk.

“US authorities also called for the removal of 113 videos from YouTube, including several documenting alleged police brutality which Google refused to take down.”

The figures are revealed in Google’s newly released transparency report, which also details how the number of “user data requests” by US authorities increased by 29 per cent compared to the last reporting period.

The reason listed for the removal of a You Tube video in one instance is “government criticism”. The exact identity or content of the video is not divulged. The report states that the removal requests pertaining to “police brutality” were done on the grounds of “defamation” and are included in that separate category, meaning the takedown order on the grounds of “government criticism” was made by the “executive,” ie the federal government.

The report does not indicate whether or not You Tube complied with the removal request, but it did comply with 63 per cent of the total requests made.

The number of “Items requested to be removed” by US authorities was almost seven-fold the number requested to be removed by Chinese authorities, a country much maligned for its Internet censorship policies.

As we have previously documented, Google-owned You Tube has complied with thousands of requests worldwide to remove political protest videos that are clearly not in violation of any copyright or national security interests and do not constitute defamation.

One such example was You Tube’s compliance with a request from the British government to censor footage of the British Constitution Group’s Lawful Rebellion protest, during which they attempted to civilly arrest Judge Michael Peake at Birkenhead county court.

When viewers in the UK attempted to watch videos of the protest, they were met with the message, “This content is not available in your country due to a government removal request.”

Indeed, the latest figures show that takedown requests on behalf of British authorities have also skyrocketed by 71 per cent, including 44 removal orders in the first half of this year which came directly from the UK government, one of which was the Birkenhead protest footage.

In Britain, a total of 135 videos were removed from You Tube on the grounds of “national security” and 43 web search results were also blacklisted by government decree.

These figures illustrate how governments, particularly the United States and Britain, are getting more aggressive in pushing for web censorship as the state increasingly tries to strangle the last bastion of true free speech, the Internet, as authorities simultaneously try to advance draconian cybersecurity measures that would hand them complete control over the world wide web.

Seymour MO town council meeting – October 27th

Contact: joe@tittiger.com

The minutes of the  October 27th meeting are not listed at as of November 11th, 14 days after the meeting. This is what we come to expect of government, paying more than in the private market and getting less.  They are finally up here.

————————————

Actually I  did take notes this time, I will get to it later, but for now I am going to go in another direction.  Have you ever seen this quote?

“The only purpose of a government is to protect a man’s rights, which means: To protect him from physical violence. A proper government is only a policeman, an agent of man’s self defense, and, as such, may resort to force only against those who start the use of force. The only proper function s of a government are: The police, to protect you from criminals; the army, to protect you from foreign invaders; and the courts, to protect your property and contracts from breach or fraud from others, to settle disputes by rational rules, according to objective laws.”

~ John Galt in Ayn Rand’s novel Atlas Shrugged

Let’s keep the above paradigm in mind as I relate to you what has happened to the request by Lincoln Justice a few weeks ago for changes to the restrictions on agriculture in the town limits.  This request it seems has gone down a memory hole and if we ever see it again, it will be as a passed law.  Unlike our congress in DC the citizens of Seymour are as far as I can ascertain not even privy to a written copy of the proposed legislation to comment on before it is passed. It seems that it is being constructed (if it is even being constructed) in the dark of night in the so called “Executive Sessions” rather than in the light of day of a public meeting. One would think that at a local level that we the people would have  more input and oversight of this process than we have in DC and Jeff City rather than less.

This is how the residents of Sedgwick Maine  interact with local government:

…The proposed ordinance was one of 78 being considered at the Sedgwick town meeting, that New England institution that has stood the test of time, allowing all of a town’s citizens to vote yea or nay on proposals to spend their tax money and, in this case, enact potentially far-reaching laws with national implications. They’ve been holding these meetings in the Sedgwick town hall (pictured above) since 1794. At Friday’s meeting, about 120 citizens raised their hands in unanimous approval of the ordinance…

Another cause for concern is the total lack of  effective checks and balances as to whether a particular  law violates the Inalienable Rights of any of the citizens of Seymour.  Towns routinely pass laws  that violate the powers that we the people have delegated to them.  Then the only way to try and change the law is to break the  law, go to jail, pay bail, a fine, and then spend tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars  and years of your life to take it through the courts.  If the town loses they often will then change a word or two in the legislation and the whole charade starts over again. There is something fundamentally wrong with this whole process in a free society. (Actually there was a time in our history when you did not have to break a law in order to challenge it, but that story is too long for here.)

The issues of citizen input, participation, oversight of proposed legislation, and some sort of litmus test  that it’s not violating peoples rights are sorely needed IMHO.

Please be patient as I add what happened at the meeting shortly…

On second thought I will save next weeks meeting for a trying a write up again.

A video recording would be much better than a write up anyhow.

*Note on executive sessions:  When our government operates in secret and out of earshot of those that attend city counsel meetings – there is a good old boys network where certain goings on are leaked to the privileged members of the mainstream press. Take this article by Bob Anderson of The Webster County Citizen. I guess if you don’t suck up you are kept in the dark as to what goes on in the Star Chamber.
